Standards SSI has during many years established an extensive range of analytical standards of which many can be purchased from the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC). Selected standards and controls, which are routinely used by SSI in in-house analyses, can be purchased directly from SSI.
Primers and Probe E.coli strains can be examined for the presence of various virulance genes using PCR or by means of hybridization. Dermatophytes- SSI developed a PCR for identification of dermophytes causing fungal infections in nails.
